Category & Retail Insights
Strikeforce recently assisted a leading global Frozen Food Manufacturer achieve an exclusive Supplier Agreement in a highly competitive environment. The Strikeforce Category & Retail Insights team were enlisted by the client to present a compelling proposition to the retailer that would secure them exclusive ranging. Strikeforce, with their deep understanding of retailer expectations and measures, employed bespoke analysis techniques and provided dozens of propositions in order to demonstrate the most effective ranging for the retailer. Return on inventory investment, margins, expected run rates, sales transferring from existing ranging and shopper insights were all assessed to determine the optimal proposition.

Space Planning
Strikeforce have a wealth of experience with Space Planning tools and processes, and recently helped a leading Hardware Retailer assess, identify and negotiate the best Space Planning tool for them. This was quite a transformative undertaking for the client as they had been previously using an out-dated solution. Strikeforce aided them through the entire scope as they successfully implemented this best-in-class range and space function. The retailer has been seeing the benefits of this investment across Merchandising, Operations, Finance, and Store Development functions, with over 3000 planograms and 360 floor plans built.

Floor plans and Planograms
A leading Liquor Retailer requested Strikeforce expertise initially for a 3-month contract, that turned into a 3-year secondment of 4 Strikeforce Space Planning experts across the retailer’s 3 banners. The project included converting AutoCAD files (a technically challenging task) into a more operable solution and working with the client’s Category Managers, Store Development and Operations teams. The retailer benefited from the dedicated Strikeforce’s Space and Floor Planners who worked in-house at head office for this period.

Ranging
A range review was fast approaching, and a leading Spreads Manufacturer had received a deletion notification from a major retailer. As part of this project, Strikeforce analysed past planograms and how historical changes influenced sales. This, together with robust analysis of the retailer’s POS (point of sale) data, Strikeforce uncovered category trends and built a compelling case for the client to take back to the retailer. This aided the client in maintaining ranging and add value to the retailer-supplier relationship.
